About Your Instructor
Ashley’s love for movement and dance began at the age of 4. After completing RAD teachers diploma and a career in fashion, Ashley entered the Pilates world in Johannesburg in 1997. She initially studied the New York Method and then met Rael at a workshop that was held in South Africa. She was then converted! Rael certified Ashley as an instructor in the Body Arts and Science Method of Pilates in 2001.
Body Mechanix Wellness Centre was established in the same year and became a host studio for BASI courses in 2003. Ashley started lecturing in 2005 and has presented at the Learn from the Leaders International Symposium. She is also a certified Gyrotonic Instructor and is currently doing her Gyrokinesis certification. You will hear her saying “I do what I love and I love what I do. I am so blessed to be in a career that ives me the opportunity to share my passion and fascination in the art of human movement”.
Ashley’s day time is also filled with three children, Chelsea-Ann, Stuart and Kaylee and a wonderful husband Mark, who is also a BASI instructor!
