Apparatus Mat Masterclass – Fri July 4, 2014
18:00 – 19:30 – €35
In this class, we’ll repurpose exercises originally designed to be performed on Pilates apparatus and set them free in the open-chain environment of the mat where the Contrology challenge is much greater. You’ll think differently about every piece of movement within the repertoire once you experience how easy it is to adapt the same choreography from one environment into another.
Basically Advanced Masterclass – Sat July 5, 2014
18:00 – 19:30 – €35
If you teach or perform a lot of matwork, you know how difficult it is to keep class fresh, exciting and challenging. Come to this “Basically Advanced Masterclass” and learn adaptations, challenges and variations on the historic basic matwork exercises that are a great way to keep class interesting and your loyal mat following excited about each and every class.
WORKSHOPS
All of Rebecca’s work is based on Safe Spine Teaching Technique. Watch this video to see what to expect.
Practical Pilates Mat – Sat July 5, 2014
Let’s get real. In your mixed level group classes, you’re teaching exercises that are beyond the ability of the majority of your clients to properly perform. Likewise, you’re also teaching exercises that are well below the ability of a few of your clients. It’s a fact; if you’re teaching the same exercise the same way to a mixed level group, you’re over-challenging some and you’re under-challenging others and that means, in spite of your best intentions, you’re teaching unsafely and ineffectively. Yikes!
In this workshop, learn how to unify your mat classes using the framework of some of the most basic and commonly taught classical Pilates exercises but with the addition of some nifty fusion mash ups that allow you to customize the performance of each exercise, client by client by client.
Safe and effective teaching combine to maximize full revenue potential of any group class programming. This workshop is designed to help you appropriately challenge everybody in your class, at just the right level, so that they – and you – get the most out of it.
Who’s appropriate for this course? All teachers, all lineages, all experience levels as well as experienced clients.
Pilates to Go – Sun July 6, 2014
Learn how to pull apart Pilates exercises, reducing them to incremental, part by part, movements so you can teach your clients how to do “pieces of Pilates” while at work, out to dinner, waiting in line, anywhere! Nobody has extra time in their busy days to do extra strength or release work but, as you know only too well, your clients won’t make progress until they’re working on their bodies every single day outside of the studio.
In order to safely and effectively progress our clients, we have to discover lost time, and it’s there – it’s hiding in plain sight! – and help our clients harvest it and use it to tend to their hard working bodies outside the studio every single day.
This fun and fast paced workshop will provide you with loads of inventory to help clients take their work beyond the studio to where Joe intended it to be used, in the real world, out there in their every day lives.
Who’s appropriate for this course? All teachers, all lineages, all experience levels as well as experienced clients.
