Live & Breathe Pilates are delighted to welcome BASI Pilates back to Dublin in 2016. We are also hosting BASI in 2017.
After hosting a joint BASI Pilates Open Day we have seen a strong demand for BASI Pilates training in Ireland. We will offer Matwork and Fully Comprehensive Courses in conjunction with BASI in our studio in Dublin in 2016.
These courses will run over three weekends in May, July and September 2016. Read more on all courses below.

- Compile comprehensive and safe Pilates Mat work programs tailored to individual and group needs
- Adapt a class to different settings and environments
- Integrate small apparatus into a Mat class to achieve optimum results
- Use the BASI® Block System to successfully administer Mat work classes
- Analyze and understand the Pilates exercises based on anatomical and biomechanical principles
- Demonstrate at a high level the vast repertoire of classic Pilates exercises as well as a wide range of original BASI exercises

Instructors
Sheri Long
Sheri is a proud Senior Faculty member of the Body Arts and Science, International (BASI) with an extensive background in dance, fitness, and health. She is honored to be teaching BASI Pilates Courses and Workshops around the world including locations in Europe, Asia, Australia, Canada and throughout the United States. Sheri’s passion for the art of movement formed over 30 years ago as a professional dancer and teacher. Following many years of practicing Pilates with her mentor, Rael Isacowitz, Sheri began a journey to introduce others to the magic of the BASI work. As a BASI graduate, Sheri opened her own studio aptly named Longevity Pilates in El Segundo, California. There she provides private sessions, semi privates, and small group classes. She is proud to have the opportunity to work with many of her fellow Pilates instructors and the population she is the most passionate about (and proudly refers to as) The Ageless Beauties. Sheri has been featured as Rael’s assistant in several educational webinars through the Pilates Method Alliance and numerous workshops including the Master Program. She continues to participate in ongoing education to refine her skills and teaching ability. She brings a commitment and passion for learning, believing the path to excellent teaching is through the experience of an avid student. Sheri believes deeply in the philosophy of the BASI Pilates program. Utilising the progressions and methodology of the system and encouraging functionally correct biomechanics, while maintaining the quality and integrity of the original work of J.H. Pilates. Sheri is inspired by the past and encouraged by the future of Pilates, and the place BASI Pilates holds in the community.
Miriam Friedrich Honório
A BASI Faculty member since August 2006, Miriam has the distinction of owning the first BASI studio in Germany. Her studio, Dynamic Arts in Freiburg, is also an Education Center for the German Pilates Association, the Deutsche Pilates Verband.
Miriam was educated as a dancer and teacher of contemporary dance and dance improvisation in Rotterdam. She subsequently worked as a dance teacher at the Dance Academy in Budapest, Hungary, and as a choreographer and dancer for several theaters.
In addition to Pilates, Miriam works with the Gyrotonic Expansion System and Gyrokinesis in her studio. She is a Gyrokinesis Master Trainer, Gyrotonic Master Trainer, Archway and Jumping Stretching Board Master Trainer and specialised on all the additional equipment.
Meredith Rogers
Born in the mountains of Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Meredith Rogers has been passionate about all things athletic since early childhood. Competitive participation in downhill skiing and soccer led to her discovery of Pilates about twelve years ago, while rehabilitating a knee injury.
She studied with, and was accredited by, BASI Pilates and subsequently joined the BASI Faculty, on behalf of which, she has travelled extensively within the United States, as well as to such exotic destinations as Australia, Japan and China. She relishes the opportunities she has to share her love of the Pilates method and the BASI technique with students all over the globe.
Meredith is currently a resident of Santa Barbara, California, where she has been teaching at La Playa Pilates and Wellness center since its origin in 2002. Throughout her career she has had the opportunity to work with a variety of students ranging from children to teenage athletes, new mothers, clients wishing to enhance specific sports related endeavors and the elderly population.
BASI Pilates has long been regarded as the pinnacle of education in the method by Pilates professionals worldwide. While many programs have fashioned their education after the BASI model, none have met or surpassed the standard set by BASI’s founder and CEO, Rael Isacowitz.
Rael’s passion for excellence and love of Pilates has shaped the past, present and now the future of the method.
“I was first attracted to the program after I realised that all my favorite Pilates classes were taught by BASI-qualified Pilates instructors. I have multiple certifications and BASI has given me by far the most value.”—Kaita Lepore, Santa Barbara Athletic Club
