We’re delighted to say that after her sold out Buff Bones workshop with us last weekend, Rebekah is staying on in Dublin for a couple of months and will be working with Live & Breathe Pilates to provide a series of Courses, Masterclasses and Teaching Clinics this summer.
Rebekah is a well know osteoporosis expert and a regular contributor to Pilates Anytime. You can read her full bio on her website Incorporating Movement.
Supporting Hypermobility
Saturday 18th of July from 13:30 – 16:30
Hypermobility is a tricky issue, with the struggle to stabilize causing frustration in both the client and teacher. In this 3 hour course for instructors we discover successful methods of assisting your hypermobile clients through fascial release & reintegration techniques, strength protocols and neuromuscular re-patterning exercises. We also learn about commonly resulting problems like myofascial pain syndrome, trigger points, faulty muscle recruitment techniques and the tendency to over-stabilize.
Masterclass
Saturday 18th of July 17:00 – 18:15
This 75 minute master class is for both instructors and clients alike and will integrate spirals into a mat workout, using mobilization techniques along with tricks to improve stability and balance and challenge you throughout, leaving you feeling invigorated and thoroughly worked out!
Check out Rebekah’s article on Spirals in the current July issue of Pilates Style Magazine.
Shoulders Neck and Wrists: Restoring Motion and Function through Pilates
Sunday 19th of July 10:00 – 17:00
This is a full day workshop open to instructors. The upper quarter of the body can become overtaxed in our daily lives from computers, text messaging and prolonged periods of sitting. And those of us carrying our lives in our bags throughout the day know the burden those bags can take on our bodies. Navigate the anatomy of the upper body both regionally and through layered connections to better understand the functional mechanics and where things go awry. Discover why the shoulder, neck and wrists cannot be looked at in isolation and how they relate to and affect one another from muscles and fascia to nerves and organs. Learn techniques to realign them through a variety of movement modalities including PNF techniques, neuromyofascial release and visceral mobilization. Apply your learnings to the classical Pilates choreography along with innovative exercises to incorporate into your repertoire.
Teaching Clinics
Tuesday 28th of July 09:30 – 12:30
& Tuesday 11th of August 09:30 – 12:30
These 2 x three hour teaching clinics are an opportunity for instructors to experience the key concepts of Rebekah Rotstein’s work in action. No preconceptions beforehand, no knowledge of what’s about to enter the studio. Kind of like reality TV where nothing is filtered. The first part will be spent with Rebekah elaborating on her approach to the body via the lens of fascia as well as viscera, bony rhythms, muscle activation and neural input, and somatic experiential movement, including the very latest understanding from Rebekah’s recent participation at the fascia conference in Germany and her work with Gil Hedley’s cadaver program. Participants will have the chance to explore key concepts of Pilates and movement in the way that Rebekah applies them. Then participants will watch these concepts in action while Rebekah teaches three client sessions, bringing the studies to life in a real-time environment. There will be time for Q&A after each session.
Private Tuition
Rebekah will also be available for a very limited number of one to one training sessions while she is here. Please email us for details.
