This is part of our Meet Our Visiting Instructor Series where you get to read about some of the visiting teachers to our studio. Meet Meredith Rogers, BASI Pilates® faculty and a regular instructor on Pilates Anytime.
What have you been up to recently?
Spending time with family and friends, working and making sure to enjoy the summertime
How long have you been a Pilates teacher and what inspired you to become one?
I’ve been teaching Pilates since 2000. The first time I tried Pilates, I fell in love. Having always been an athlete, I was attracted to the quest for alignment and balance in my own body and wanted to help others along their pathway of discovery. The mind body awareness and focus on breath were, and continue to be, extremely beneficial to me in my life.
What’s your favourite Pilates exercise? Why?
There are way, way too many that I love to pick just one.
If Joe Pilates was still alive, what would you ask him?
Are you open to the evolutionary path your work has taken?
What are your top three tips for clients and students for progressing their Pilates practice?
Be methodical and open to change. Look for depth in the conversation you are having with your body. Never, ever stop practicing the fundamentals
Describe your teaching style in less than ten words
Embodied, proprioceptive and uniquely tailored to each individual.
Where are your three favourite places in the world?
Lake Tahoe (home).
Machu Picchu.
Italy.
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
Work less. Publish a book. Visit New Zealand.
Tell us about someone who inspires you
My mom encouraged me in my love of movement and my appreciation for the outdoors. She also taught me to be patient and kind. She inspires me every day.

I enjoy spending time outdoors and I love to read.
